One of Prince's best songs given to another artist, in my opinion, shows up on In The Storm. "Tip O' My Tounge" is led by a strong chorus with verses that are half rapped and sung. The chorus ends with a terrific horn riff. An interesting aspect of the song is the tempo change in the songs bridge. The funky up tempo really helps to bring the song to the next level.
The album itself has some terrific, non-Prince related, material. El Debarge mixes jazz flavored material and funk quite successfully on the album. The work flows together well and sounds like a complete album verses singles. The title track's message is reminiscent of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."
