Candy Dulfer was discovered by Prince at an aftershow when he asked for a local group to open. He snatched her up to play several sessions with him. She is best known for her session on Prince's "Partyman" remix in which he sings "when I want sax, I call Candy." She went on to minor success as a solo jazz musician.
Her first album, Sax-A-Go-Go, featured the Prince track "Sunday Afternoon." The track was nothing spectacular and sounded like a Sunday afternoon stroll through a park. Of course, whenever a Prince jazz instrumental is mentioned, it invokes a reference to Madhouse. This track, however, would have been too laid back for the projects. It is more similar to the more laid back work Prince did with Eric Leeds for his first solo outing Times Squared.
