Elisa Fiorillo's effort was aimed at a pop audience. The singer, who once won on US TV's Star Search, signed her first major recording deal in 1985 at age 15. "On The Way Up" was the hit single from her sophomore album I Am. In December 1990 the track shot up to peak at number 27 on the Billboard pop chart.
Prince contributed five tracks in total to the effort, all quality commercial material. "Love's No Fun" is probably more recognized by Prince listeners as a track from Mayte's Child Of The Sun album. This is the original version that featured more instrumentation. The other Prince-penned tracks were all primarily keyboard oriented numbers in the same vein.
