This period in Prince's career was quite interesting as he was going through a transition in his songwriting. What resulted was a mix bag of tracks that featured some of the best writing of his career and some real letdowns.
"Get Blue" is among the better half of that spectrum. The track is a mid-tempo song written in late 1992, when he was working on his album  . The track is a smooth R&B cut that worked well for Louie Louie. Also present is the forgettable "Dance Unto The Rhythm." The track is not bad, it is just not a standout.
