Monie Love - In A Word Or 2

Monie Love is a female rapper who was more on the pop end. Her album, In A Word Or 2 was rooted in the fun rap style that was present at the time. Prince contributed two songs to the album. "Born 2 B.R.E.E.D." was the better of the two and was featured as a single. The song is a fast track with a really catchy hook. The background vocals have a heavy gospel feel and likely included The Steeles. "In A Word Or 2" was a bit more disappointing. The track drags on a bit and sounds as though it was a leftover from the Carmen Electra sessions.
