Mica Paris - Contribution

Prince's more avid listeners are probably more familiar with Mayte's take on "If I Love U 2nite." Mica Paris did a decent job with the song, though it is more suited for Mayte. The backing tracks for this version differ significantly from the reworked version. The latter cut was more commercial than the hip-hop influenced track Mica sang over. The Contribution take also suffered from a bit of oversinging. Mayte was more limited vocally than Mica Paris and it worked to her advantage.
