Kenny Rogers - They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
Most have the same reaction when told that Prince wrote a song for Kenny Rogers. "What?" Well, believe it or not, the track is really good. It is a ballad that is well suited for Kenny's adult contemporary contry style. He sings along with the song instead of singing over it as most artists Prince writes for do. The mid-tempo song itself sounds like it could have been an outtake from one of Prince's first two albums, although it was likely written much later. There is no denying it is a Prince ballad and it is mind boggling that it worked for Kenny.
