   
Over the course of 's career, he has written and appeared on a multitude of other artist's recordings. Some of the efforts are little-known, but many songs he has written or appeared on have become well-known. This section documents his work done for other artists and some that he is wrongly credited for.
It is not only difficult to track down all the efforts has participated on due to the number and rarity of the recordings, but also because he often uses a psudonym or goes uncredited. Elisa Fiorillo, a recipient of five Prince-penned tracks, commented to Minneapolis Star-Tribune journalist Jon Bream, in their October 29, 1990 issue, that he is "not supposed to use his name on productions outside of [his then-record label] Warner Brothers. (Records)." She continued that he "begged for credit on [I Am]."
