himself performed the first single from the commercially titled 1-800-NEW-FUNK as a duet Nona Gaye, the daughter of late singing legend Marvin Gaye. The track went on to some success on the R&B charts and the video was played frequently on video stations such as BET. The track was similar to "Letitgo" from his Come album Warner Brothers promoted simultaneously. Both were upbeat dance tracks aimed at the urban market.
