Controversy
|
Controversy continued along the same lines as Dirty Mind. Listeners and critics pretty much agree that the previous album is slightly better. Still, the efforts are usually grouped together as raw classics. This album's most interesting aspect is that Prince used the Linn drum machine for the first time on several tracks. That is among the early musical indications of the classic sound the artist would follow with in the coming years.
