The Gold Experience
The cornerstone of O{+^'s debate with Warner Brothers, it was ironic to see The Gold Experience eventually co-released on the label along with NPG Records. For over a year the Artist toured Europe and appeared on television and in print to hype up the album. Several configurations later, it was finally released.

The Gold Experience was worth the wait, but it was hardly the commercial success O{+^ hoped it would be. Hit material was there, but the public backlashed strongly against O{+^ after his ugly battle with Warner Brothers. Many did not understand the dispute and all the antics of the period. It did seem bizarre to the average music listener that the Artist wrote "slave" on his face and changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol. The media made it seem as though O{+^ did all that to break a contract potentially worth 100 million dollars, which was not entirely true. To make matters worse, there was a trail of quick releases, intended to end the contract, that failed miserably. This left the average listener to wonder if The Gold Experience was another throw-away album.

For the history books, The Gold Experience was filled with lots of quality material. It was perhaps his most commercially enticing and consistent effort since Batman. O{+^ stretched several genres on the album successfully as he did in the prime of his commercial peak. Unfortunately, the big hit needed to regain the public was just not on the album. "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" was present, in enhanced format, but it had already run it's course and could be disregarded as blatant commercialism that O{+^ is capable of writing in his sleep.
