| Show Notes | Before this MTV Video Music Awards performance Prince did a closed rehearsal with his own security guards monitoring the doors. Arsenio Hall, host of the show, arrived and was not given admittance by the guards. Hall was quite angry about the situation and vowed to not host the awards again. Prince appeared on his talk show a few days later. It is also of note that Prince wore the famed pants that exposed his buttocks at this performance. |
